Despite the continuance of my massive headache from yesterday's pool accident, the four of us, plus my mom, got on the road to my sister's house. The drive took a little over an hour, and there was nothing much to report.
The kids were so excited to see my sister, Bethany! The very first thing we did was make some lunch and boy was it delicious. The kids then took some special time with my mom to watch more of the tv series "Alf." They started watching it earlier this week with my dad, and they just love it! I was grateful to take a break at that point and finished my verse by verse study of the book of James.
We all took a trip to the local grocery store where Bethany's husband, Josh, works in the meat department. The highlight was definitely seeing the kids greet Josh. Though he hasn't been part of their 'family' as long as we have, you would never guess it by their enthusiasm.
We got a sweet deal on some ice cream while at the store, so we had a nice time eating our ice cream sundaes.
All of the pictures for today are from our trip to the park. It was a really fun time, and it was great to be able to step back and take pictures of the kids with my sister. We took a nice walk around the lake and saw quite a bit of damage from the recent flood and major winds.
Michelle had a great time helping Bethany make pizza for our supper, and she did a great job! Unfortunately, I didn't think to get pictures of that. Also, I have some pictures on my camera that I won't be able to post until I get back home because I forgot my chip in my laptop, and my built-in memory can only be uploaded with a usb cord.
Josh took the boys outside for a bit while Bethany made rice krispie treats with Michelle. And now, the treats have been made and devoured, the book has been read, the teeth have been brushed, and now it's lights out. Good night!
