The Beginning of Something New
I have been in the process of moving for the past month with varying degrees of success. After much searching I got down to two places I was interested in potentially renting. After some debate I decided on one place partly because they would allow me to move in before the new year! All the paper work was signed and the keys were handed over just in time for a last minute moving party with a couple friends from church. It worked out just perfectly time-wise. I had one day to move in one day before I headed home for Christmas! I was able to get a lot of my stuff put away and it was so much fun to figure out where I am going to put my own belongings. I have been continuing to figure things out and it has been so much fun! I can't wait to finish putting everything away and then a nice party with lots of fun games, good friends, and tasty food. This is a new experience for sure! I've never had my own apartment before, and it is a good feeling. It's nice being a responsible adult.

Attitude adjustment?
I was getting close to finishing up work tonight, and customers just kept trickling in! I was getting rather annoyed until there was a break. But then two more ladies came in and my frustration built. Didn't they know I just wanted to go home? Of course, I was very friendly and courteous when they order, but my heart's attitude wasn't in the best shape. The time came to close down, and they were still sitting there. I don't even remember how the subject came up, but I found out that the baby with them was one sister's and the other sister is almost to her due date. So that got me talking about my sister who just yesterday had her very first baby! (Psst! It's a boy!) The more we talked the happier I was. I found out that more of the sisters have very large families, and have used midwives multiple times (like my sister did). It was truly such a blessing to chat with them and hear about their experiences with midwives and who they've worked with here in this area. I know it's far in the future, but I'm pretty sure that I will want to use a midwife as well. I just see so many benefits to going that route. So again, having the chance to speak with these women was encouraging. It showed me that the things that make me frustrated and annoyed, those things God can use to bless me. Hopefully that will remind me to think of the bright side of every interaction.

Closer
This past week has been incredible in a couple ways, but the biggest one is just how close God feels right now. I love it. It is such an amazing feeling to know that the God of the universe is with me and loves me. How incredible. There were also a few difficulties this week, but in them I saw God even more, and was not afraid. I saw that God has a purpose for my life that I haven't grasped just yet. I've even received more words of knowledge from my friends at church. Some people may think it isn't legitimate, and God certainly doesn't speak to us like that, but when complete strangers can tell you about important things in your life that they COULD NOT know, you have to know it is God. He is mighty and powerful, and He knows us better than we know ourselves. Two of my friends spoke over me yesterday and both statements they made were perfect and exactly what I needed to hear. They were both things I have questioned God on, and didn't feel I'd received any answer...until now. How amazing. God is so amazing, awesome, and completely indescribable.
